Makeup is endless fun but skin care will always have my heart. When we wash our makeup off, wouldn't it be lovely to look in the mirror and swoon because we have beautiful, healthy, glowing, clear skin shining back at us. It is easy to slack on our skincare routine sometimes howver as I get older, I am taking nothing forgranted. Taking great care of my skin is a top priority for me. Here are my skincare resolutions for 2020.
Cleansing the skin properly is very important to remove dirt, excess oil and makeup. An important part of cleansing is removing makeup with an actual makeup remover first. Some of us think we can just wash our face at the end of the day and it will be clean. No no no hunny! Kindly use a makeup remover first and then use your cleanser of choice.
Admittedly, this is a step I have skipped for a couple years and I am soo ashamed of this outrageous neglect. However, I am back on my toning game and will never deviate again. The difference in clarity and texture in my skin is amazing so this is a part of my nighttime routine.
I vow to gently exfoliate away dead skin cells hiding the brilliance of my healthy skin underneath. A gentle face scrub is good to use at least 3 times a week.
I say appropiately because daytime moisturizer should have sun protection (SPF) in it. I also like a lighter consistency for those hot days. In the evening my bedtime skincare routine I will use a much heavy or emollient moisturizer, so my skin can soak up all the goodness as I sleep.
Drinking lots of water and eating fruits and vegetables will do wonders for your body and your skin.
I will treat myself to professional skincare treatments from my very favorite aestichian, Angela from Dare to Bare. Facials are soo relaxing and give your skin that boost you just cannot get from a normal routine.
